Housing Market and Job Growth Rebounding After Long Wait

The mortgage and housing market took a significant hit thanks to the sub-prime bubble that burst not too long ago. Job growth steadily declined as the economy found itself winding into a recession. The good news is many of those trends are starting to reverse in a meaningful way. Job growth reached a plateau and is finally starting to climb. Several of the hardest hit cities are now starting to see improved home sales with consumers competing for their dream home in increased numbers.

The question on most peoples’ minds is “Is this turn around just as artificial as what dropped us into this mess?” Financial analysts are pointing toward this not being an artificial trend. There are many long-term indicators in place that show the economy and housing market slowly starting to turn around. Trends are read over long periods of time rather than just the past few days or weeks. The stronger the long-term trend, the more significant it is.

A consumer that is ready to start hunting for a new home is in an excellent environment to do so. Prices of houses are still at fairly low levels though have been steadily gaining the past few months. The key to finding, and keeping, a new home lay mostly within affordability. Far too many people tried to buy what they could not actually afford. Sub-prime lenders fueled this by actually okaying the loans.

The maximum amount you are likely to get for a home loan is three times your gross salary. Banks are not genuinely interested in seeing their borrowers fail. After all, they collect their profit from things like interest payments. Your credit will play a major role in determining the size of the down payment you need to make on the home. Any defaults or late payments on credit cards, cash quick loans, or store cards will effect you ability to obtain a mortgage. Take the time to research lenders and financial institutions so you can find the best choice for your requirements.

A steady job and affordable mortgage are at the heart of finding a great home you will want to stay in for a long-term. The present market only makes that offer more attractive. Is it possible that the trend won’t continue? Of course- there are no guarantees in the financial field. Provided no more major disasters occur in the near future, we should see a continued increase in sold homes within the housing market.

New Guidelines Aimed To Stop Cell Phone Bill Shock

Many people have opened their monthly cell phone bill to find the very unpleasant surprise know as cell phone bill shock. This happens when there are excessive overage fees on the regular monthly bill. While people should know how much time, texts or data they have for their plan it can be easy to go over occasionally. The problem is that when you do over your limit you may not know it until you get your monthly bill and at that point the damage is done.

For some people this amounts to an extra $50-$100 on their cell phone bill, but some people have seen charges over $1,500 on a single monthly cell phone bill. Families with teens who are constantly texting, talking or using data plans are typically at the highest risk of experiencing cell phone bill shock. It’s easy for a teen to hit and go over the limit and keep on going before the parents have time to track their cell phone usage for the month.

But even adults can easily go over if they have an unusual month with heavier usage than normal. Most cell phone companies allow you to track your usage, but if you’ve had a month where you’ve used your phone a lot by the time you check it you may already be over your limit for the month. It is especially easy to go over your limit with data if you have a limited data plan.

By April 2013 cell phone companies will start to alert customers via voice mail or text when they are approaching limits. Some changes start taking place by October 2012 when cell phone companies will need to have 2 of the 4 alerts for voice, text, data or international roaming in place (there is no requirement on which two).

Pressure from the government and consumer advocacy groups prompted the cell phone industry to adopt these new guidelines, but however they came about hopefully they will help a lot of people avoid future shockingly high cell phone bills.

Cell phone users who don’t want to be hit with a bunch of alerts can opt out of these alerts, so those who want them can receive them and those who don’t want them won’t be bothered by them.

These new guidelines should help a lot of people keep their cell phone bills within reason. It will at least let them know when they may start receiving overage charges. It’s a positive step for cell phone consumers.

RevealRealEstate launches new property listing service for Central America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Managua, Nicaragua – February 20, 2012 – The Central American property listing site RevealRealEstate, known since 2009 for its comprehensive database of real estate developments in the region, has announced a new premium property listing service.

“Property owners in Nicaragua, Belize, Panama and Costa Rica need a better way to promote their properties online” says Jane Bakerson, head of marketing with Reveal Real Estate.  “The lack of a Multiple Listing Service and exclusive listing arrangements in many Central American countries means that properties do not always get the marketing exposure they need for a quick sale. “

The traffic on RevealRealEstate is growing rapidly with an increasing number of buyer leads being generated for property sellers.  With a niche focus on Central America combined with rich content about the key property “hotspots”, Reveal Real Estate is able to deliver highly targeted leads to owners with property for sale.

RevealRealEstate has amassed a large database of real estate developments, condo projects and resort properties in Central America.  This helps the site stand out as a useful resource for buyers interested in the region and provides a unique marketing platform for re-sellers who have bought in these projects.

Premium listing subscriptions are available for Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua and Belize for US$17 per month.  The listings are designed to help sellers showcase what is unique about their property, present key highlights as well as use images and video to present their property to buyers.

RevealRealEstate also provides a free E course to help educate sellers about the international real estate markets in Central America and provide tips and strategies to help them get their property sold more quickly.   Sellers interested in selling property they own in Central America can sign up for the free ecourse on the site.

5 Singing Stars that will Make Noise in 2012

There’s no denying that 2011 was a great year for music is a lot of exciting developments. We saw some newer singers solidify into popular stars, while others came out of the woodwork to entertain fans across the world. Some older acts also came back into fashion while still proving they had what it took to hang with the youngsters. The same types of things will be seen in 2012 with a great mix of old and new singers coming out with albums. It’s sure to be an exciting year filled with hot gossip and frantic energy that only the music industry produces. Let’s take a look at five stars that are really going to make a lot of noise in the upcoming year.

bruno mars

Bruno Mars – 2011 was really a breakout year for Mars, and he had a load of hits to build up his fan base. It also came to light that he was responsible for co-writing many of the most popular songs all of this year as well. But he’s made enough of a name for himself that he doesn’t have to stand behind anyone else anymore. 2012 is going to be his year for establishing his voice and really breaking out as a solo star that has no other competition is category right now.

Madonna – the original material girl is going to come back big in 2012. She is set to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and the world is already buzzing about what she might do. Although she might not seem like a great choice for football fans, there is no doubt she’s going to get people talking. She’s also going to release her first new studio album in quite some time, and we’re certain it will have at least a few number one hits.

The Killers – this is a band that epitomizes hot and cold, but they’ve been around enough that people still give them the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes they disappear too long for their own good, so it’s always nice to see them come back with a new album. Some people consider them pioneers but their special brand of music might not hold up as well. Having said that, we have perfect faith that the Killers are going to put an interesting twist on what they do best.

Lana Del Rey – she is one of the few acts to ever debut on Saturday Night Live without even releasing her album first. Her performance honored a lot of criticism while people said that she looks extremely nervous. But there’s no doubt she’s gorgeous and there’s a reason why she was chosen for this coveted spot. Hopefully this initial backlash will turn around and people will root for her as an underdog. We have no doubt that her mix of beauty and talent is going to win out in 2012.

Adam Lambert – hope is beginning to run out for some who claim American Idol is still a star-making machine. It’s pretty much a hit or miss proposition with whoever comes out of the show these days. So when there’s someone who stands out from the rest and has a chance at having a full music career, we stand behind them completely. Lambert might not appeal to everyone, but there’s no denying he is definitely different from everyone else. With a new studio album release in 2012, we think he’s going to hit his stride and become a real mainstream success.

You can expect all of these artists to create some noise and make a splash on all forms of media ranging from radio to television to your home karaoke machine. It won’t be long before you can pop yourself down on your couch, plug-in your favorite headset and remind yourself why these are some of the most talented people in the industry. Hang on to your seatbelt because 2012 is going to be a wild ride.

Make-up And Fashion Trends In The News

Make up trends are constantly changing – and that makes them newsworthy. Newsworthy to the point that the minute President Obama’s wife steps out side in a new lipstick, the whole fashion world pricks up its ears and goes into consumer overdrive. All of a sudden half of the Western sea board (the female half of course) is scrabbling to buy Fabulous Ruby Red by (insert any designer brand) as a means of emulating Mrs Obama in some small way.

As an example, makeup trends for 2012 are said to be currently focused upon the Winter season. That being wintery weather – and all that glistens. The products that are now appearing on the shelves are full of glitter and pizzazz and it doesn’t look as though the trend will be disappearing any time soon.

Two of the world’s biggest (and best) cosmetic’s manufacturers are MAC and Cover Girl. Both are right on trend with their gorgeous wintery palettes, and of course there’s the usual scramble for Cover Girl coupons and money-off deal for MAC products. No self-respecting woman is walking around (right now) in anything less than fabulous frosty hues and (seasonal?) glossy whites.

Then again, another cosmetic’s news headliner is the fact that Dame Helen Mirren was snapped, wearing no makeup whatsoever, when arriving at LAX airport earlier today. Unusually she didn’t bother to hide behind a wide brimmed hat or a pair of over-sized sunnies. Instead Dame Helen strolled boldly into the facing bank of paparazzi and simply grinned from ear to ear – au naturel!

However the usual way of celebrity is not to leave the front door looking anything less than fabulous and that’s a big part of how and why make-up trends and celebrity go hand in hand – and always will do. Our fascination with who’s wearing what, why and when is a good proportion of what makes the rich and famous so interesting.

Should make-up and fashion trends make front page news time after time? Probably not as there are far more important matters going on around the world and let’s face it … cosmetics are hardly Nobel peace prize contenders, are they? Still, the news world is what it is and no well-known publication would hit the streets without a fashion section. In fact it’s highly likely that any magazine or news paper that doesn’t contain a section for the avid fashionistas wouldn’t get a look in anyway.

So … long live make-up trends I say. And long may they change!
